dupe

- noun
- vítima

- A forma ortográfica correcta deste termo é vítima.

EN "The years that are gone seem like dreams --if one might go on sleeping and dreaming --but to wake up and find --oh! well! perhaps it is better to wake up after all, even to suffer, rather than to remain a dupe to illusions all one's life".

- transitive verb
- enganar

EN The book reviewed by the Edinburgh reviewer, and relied on for his account of the Kantean philosophy, is the essay of Villars --a book so entirely childish that perhaps no mortification more profound could have fallen upon the reviewer than the discovery of the extent to which he had been duped by his author.
