The purpose of this project is to offer a model pronunciation for standard Galician in a formal register. First of all a dictionary was developed based on the Vocabulario Ortográfico da Lingua Galega, with a phonetic transcription for each entry (Dicionario de pronuncia da lingua galega. A Coruña: Real Academia Galega, 2010).

In the next phase the proposed pronunciations were recorded on audio, giving around 60,000 pronunciations including feminine forms and variants. Currently the third phase is underway, consisting of increasing the number of entries in the core lexicon until they include all the entries in the present-day Real Academia Galega dictionary, while also improving the search tool to allow for searches by written form or phonetic sequence.
