Concepción Álvarez Pousa

BA in Galician Philology by the University of Vigo, MA in Communication and Creative Industries by the University of Santiago de Compostela, and PhD in Linguistics by the University of Santiago de Compostela (2021), with the thesis titled A lingua da Terra de Viana do Bolo. Descrición dialectal e análise do cambio lingüístico, under the supervision of Professor Francisco Fernández Rei.

She has carried out a research internship (2016) at the Arquivo Dialetal of the CLUP of the Faculdade de Letras do Porto; and she has participated in congresses and conferences of the USC and the universities of Extremadura (Cáceres), Porto, and Complutense de Madrid where she presented reports on the variety of Galician language spoken in Viana and its affinities with the Galician language spoken in the Portelas of Zamora, as well as with Portuguese. In 2015 she joined the Instituto da Lingua Galega's Arquivo do Galego Oral project.

She has published the book Escolma de poesía berciana en lingua galega (in co-authorship, 2002) and research articles on Laureano Prieto, ethnographer and collector of popular literature, and on the Galician of Florencio Delgado Gurriarán. She is a teacher of secondary education and a regular contributor to the regional newspaper O Sil.
