Mar Campos has been a lecturer at the University of Santiago de Compostela since the end of 2003. Her career began after graduating in Hispanic Philology with an extraordinary prize at the University of Coruña, where she defended her doctoral thesis: <<El memorial de virtudes de Alfonso de Cartagena: edición y estudio>> (The memorial of virtues of Alfonso de Cartagena: edition and study) (2001), also obtaining the extraordinary award. She is specialised in the field of Spanish historical lexicography and diachronic lexical morphology. It is worth mentioning her position as coordinator of the Real Academia Española's team of the Diccionario Histórico de la lengua Española (Historical Dictionary of the Spanish language) or as co-director of the Revista de lexicografía (Journal of Lexicography). Until January 2022 he was also a member of the scientific committee of the National Library of Spain. She is currently a member of the board of directors of the Spanish Association of Lexicographical Studies (AELex).
