GL Entón chegoulles, desde a cerna da néboa --aparentemente desde unha gran distancia--, o son dunha gargallada, unha risa apagada, deliberada, inhumana, e tan carente de graza coma a dunha hiena vagando de noite polo deserto; unha risa que aumentaba aos poucos, cada vez máis alta e clara, máis nítida e terrible, ata que pareceu deterse xusto fóra do seu limitado campo de visibilidade; unha risa tan sobrenatural, tan inhumana, tan endemoñada, ¡que encheu estes rudos cazadores de homes dunha sensación de pavor indescritible!
