- aprehender

EN Here the evil apprehended is an evil of defect; it is alleged that literature is not adequate to the main end of giving due and regular excitement to the mind and the spirits, unless combined with some other summons to mental exercise of periodical recurrence -- determined by an overruling cause acting from without -- and not dependent therefore on the accidents of individual will, or the caprices of momentary feeling springing out of temper or bodily health.

- preceder

EN Fashion designers and couturiers apprehend the subconscious life of our societies and go on to represent it with their own particular sensibility.
